The Aquabear Legion will present our 8th annual Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, August 10th from 1:00 pm-3:00 pm at UCM in Uptown Athens, Ohio (18 N. College Street). All money raised at the breakfast will go to pay bands at the 8th annual Aquabear County Fair which is September 5-6, 2014 at The Union Bar & Grill. It’s the best day of the year. A whole bunch of great local food and pancakes to support a whole bunch of great local music. We want to thank the following folks for making this event so delicious! Snowville Creamery, Sticky Pete’s Maple Syrup, Casa Nueva, Donkey Coffee, Shagbark Seed & Mill, Fullbrooks Cafe, Fluff Bakery & Catering, Pierogi Mountain, Jackie O’s Bake Shop, King Family Farm and many more!

Come out and support Ohio music and eat amazing food. And it’s the morning after the annual Athens Community Music Festival so it’s the perfect thing to do when you roll out of bed the next morning/afternoon.

Aquabear Pancake Breakfast is Sunday, February 17 in Athens!

418215_10150561270104691_417437864_nThe best day of the whole year is almost upon us, Aquabear Legion Pancake Breakfast day! Sunday, February 17th at 1:00pm at UCM at 18 N. College St. in Athens, Ohio. Once again we are partnering with some great local food producers to make this meal ALL LOCAL including Shagbark Seed & Mill, Snowville Creamery, Sticky Pete’s Maple Syrup, Donkey Coffee, Fluff Bakery & Catering, Jackie O’s Pub and Brewery, and King Family Farm. All proceeds benefit the 7th annual Aquabear County Fair in Fall 2013, money raised will pay the bands for playing and keep all the shows free. Tickets are $5 in advance (look for them this week on the website here and at Haffa’s Records) or $6 at the door, and your ticket includes an all local meal with: ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT pancakes with Sticky Pete’s Maple Syrup and homemade Snowville butter, Donkey Coffee, various treats, along with bacon upgrades for $1. The breakfast will run from 1:00pm-4:00pm.

Athens' own Sticky Pete's Maple Syrup will be topping all the pancakes at the Aquabear Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, January 29 from 1pm-4pm at ARTS/West!

The best day of the entire year is approaching. Aquabear Legion’s annual Pancake Breakfast is Sunday, January 29th at ARTS/West in Athens, Ohio! Last year we decided it made sense to involve the unbelievable local food community here in the Athens area with our fundraiser to help support unbelievable local music and the best day of the year became even better. ALL WEEK we will be spotlighting the local food producers and businesses we are working with this year. See you all at the Aquabear Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, January 29th from 1:00pm-4:00pm at ARTS/West, 132 West State Street in Athens.

The Aquabear is very excited to top all the pancakes this Sunday with some Sticky Pete’s Maple Syrup from right here in Athens County! Sticky Pete’s can be found everywhere from Casa Nueva to the Easton Farmers Market in Columbus and it is fantastic. We could not ask for anything better to top our pancakes with. Now, Sticky Pete’s doesn’t have a website but our Athens ex-pat friend Susan Hilvert was involved with a project called TerraStories that traveled around meeting female farmers and food producers and ran across Laura Berry and Sticky Pete’s on the cross-region journey. TerraStories says this of Laura and Sticky Pete’s “She only sells her stuff locally, but her clout is nation-wide: Sticky Pete’s has been repeatedly recognized by tastemakers as some of the best syrup on the market.”

Aquabear's annual Pancake Breakfast is Sunday, January 29th from 1pm-4pm at ARTS/West in Athens

It’s the beginning of a new year and that means… It’s Aquabear Legion Pancake Breakfast time! This year we host the best breakfast of the year at ARTS/West on Sunday, January 29th from 1pm-4pm. Last year’s event was so much fun and the food was great so we decided once again to go ALL LOCAL with the food, local food being used to support local music makes sense to us! This year will mark our SIXTH Pancake Breakfast.

$5 will get you:
• all-you-can-eat pancakes (made with Shagbark Mill spelt flour and Snowville milk)
• Donkey Coffee
• Snowville Chocolate Milk (while it lasts)
• and special treats throughout the afternoon
• Sticky Pete’s Maple Syrup and homemade butter and whipped cream from Snowville products (while it lasts)

and for a bonus $1 upgrade donation (no limit, while supplies last) you can choose:
• a Blockhead Donut (from Fluff Bakery) OR
• a piece of delicious King Family Farms bacon

Special thanks to ARTS/West, Snowville Creamery, Sticky Pete’s Maple Syrup, Donkey Coffee, Fluff Bakery & Catering, Shagbark Mill & Seed, King Family Farm, Athens Farmers Market, and everyone else who is helping out. This year we are raising money to help with costs for the 6th annual Aquabear County Fair on March 9-10 in Athens, which this year will be FREE and general operating costs and all that too.

Help support the Aquabear and eat some awesome food. The event will take place in the basement of ARTS/West at 132 W. State Street in Athens, free parking is available in back.
